iDemo 1.0.7 out

Posted on August 12, 2010

A few days ago, we released iDemo 1.0.7 with early support for iPad device on OSX. We also fixed some WiFi issues on Windows due to IPV6. All of you having issues with iDemo not seeing your iPhone over WiFi on Windows should try with the latest version.

Next version of iDemo will include:
– iPad support on Windows
– Support for Display Recorder on iPad and USB

Thank you for your support!

ps
Not heard anything from Steve Jobs about our demand for approving iDemo for non jailbroken iPhones. Sorry guys, it bums us out too.

So, iDemo has been submitted to Apple some time ago… and no feedback whatsoever?

iDemo was submitted and rejected by Apple because of the use of a once allowed but now denied private API UIGetScreenImage. I have sent an email to Steve Jobs hoping he could make an exception like he does sometimes but I haven’t heard a thing. Unfortunately I don’t know what else to do. I know iDemo is useful to many people including teachers in Schools. It’s a shame.

Sorry to hear that. So, basically, the once ‘pro-education’ Apple is now forcing-the-hand of some of its iPhone users to go forth and jailbreak their devices, as no other viable alternative is currently available to provide a means to high-quality iphone screen capture (via one’s own PC or Mac). I wish you the best with your pursuits. Please reap as much as you can from your efforts, as I could see Apple integrating this needed feature into a future iOS release (or App of their own) leaving devs like you swinging in the wind.

i so heard that jailbreaking is now legal, or doesnt break your warrenty, so i heard. but i have some issues with idemo not working, i installed as admin on my win 7 machine and i click the icon to run it and it looks as if it will start but doesn’t. of course i am only using the trial version but what use is there to buy something that the trial won’t start. please let me know if i need to let you know more, thanks.

also i want to say to marc that its all about control, apple probably is going to make their own so they control 100% of that part of the market. i think its total bs that ipods, iphones etc. need to go through Only the app store without jailbreaking your device to download content.

this does not work with windows 7 even if you run it under the admin.
    What a waste of money

Sorry it does not work for you. Why didn’t you use the trial before buying a license?
Anyhow, send me your info and I’ll refund you.

Hi Guys ! Do you envisage an ad hoc release of the usb version for the non jailbreaked iphones ? If so I’m more than interested ! :D

@Sylvain – I know it is coming soon in next release, but… Any news on USB support for Display Recorder? A few more weeks? A few more days? Thanks!

Did a few trial runs with the iPad and ScreenSplitrr/iDemo does work but the image is iPhone size, not iPad size. Could iDemo be made to toggle between the two just as the iPhone simulator from Apple does?

Any news on the status or approval of this app in the App Store?

I bought iDemo yesterday and I’m extremely happy with it…it works great! For my demo though it is really important that I have an iPhone 4 skin displayed instead of the iPhone 3G that is currently displayed.

Do you plan updating the skin, or giving the user an option for which model phone they want to “demo” with?

Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks so much

    John

Take some of the money you get from this program and buy yourself some bandwidth. 20 minutes to download a 6 MB file, which ends up being corrupt once I get it.

Demo sucks, all it does is show the screen. No controlling the iPhone I assume. Useless demo for testing.

We never said it would allow control of the iPhone. IDemo is for showing people in a room what you’re doing without having to pass the phone around or using overhead projectors. If you want to control the demo with your computer, use VNC or the simulator.

    iDemo is no longer supported.
